Hope Not Hate: Not In My Name

The Hope Not Hate campaign has produced a very good video for the Not In My Name initiative, which you can watch below.

I would maintain that, ultimately, the only way to beat the BNP and the far right is to offer working class people an inclusive, progressive, socialist alternative that will tackle capitalism and the inequalities of our society, and that antifascists are therefore best served by seeking to create such an alternative.

Nonetheless, the Hope Not Hate campaign has proven itself to be very effective at drawing together those who already stand in opposition to the BNP and to racism and fascism.

While it may be the case that a campaign which doesn’t provide a genuine electoral alternative to the BNP can have only limited success in winning support from those frustrated and disengaged enough to consider voting for the far right, the achievements of Searchlight in drawing together frequently disparate sections of the antifascist movement should not be dismissed lightly.

This is an excellent video that simply and effectively communicates its message.

The Hope Not Hate campaign’s Not In My Name initiative aims to highlight the opposition of the majority of the various peoples of the UK to the BNP and to racism and fascism in all its forms.
